Makes sense, there's an oversupply of unemployed labor in most fields. Wages need to fall, there's probably a ways to go too.

I've done some remodeling around the house, some landscaping (e.g. digging ditches), and enough other physical activities to know that sitting in a chair with air conditioning for more money is a lot nicer! Also "safer", not just from an injury perspective but if I ended up with a major back or shoulder issue I can still talk on the phone and move a mouse. For a laborer that could be the end. Some can't even labor if they wanted to due to various physical issues.

This. I really enjoy working with my hands but would never do it as a career. I can't image doing manual labor 40+ hours a week later in life. Besides, my competitive advantage is my brain not my body.

Someone should tell that to the Koch Brothers who went from 30 billion to 50 billion in net worth.

They are investors\speculators. What does their increase in networth have to do with wages falling for the over supply of laborers?

There ya go. Wages are down so lets just steal from the rich and what's even better is we will work less hours for it.......

So, remove the "temporary tax cuts" are stealing? Do you know what the word "temporary" means?

Except, they didn't have 60 votes.. so they didn't control anything with a record breaking fillibustering.

Remember this the next time you blame Republicans under Bush. They had far less seats than Obama and the democrats.

Was there record breaking fillibuster? Nope.

"In the 110th Congress of 2007-2008, with Republicans in the minority, there were a record 112 cloture votes. In the current session of Congress – the 111th – for all of 2009 and the first two months of 2010 the number already exceeds 40."

Notice the spike every time the Democrats control congress and the lack of a spike when republicans control?

More false equivalence!

You thrive on disinformation for the masses though, so you already knew that.

^ Also, lets not forget that the Republican House has voted on 5 times as many bills as the Democrat Senate. Something like 700ish to 150ish if I recall numbers. Meanwhile the Liar in Chief goes around blaming the "Do nothing Congress" and the "Party of No". Might be time to really look at the facts this time, morons.

Talking points alert!

Why don't you post all of the jobs bills from that number...

It is funny that all of a sudden voting to defund planned parenthood, redefine rape, and defunding NPR counts.

That is the true beauty of the GOP.

Democrats push for health care reform(We have NEVER seen a piece pushed by the republicans in control... NEVER...), push to repeal DADT, push to pay for 9/11 responder's healthcare, ban to government support of companies who allow rape without repercussion...

And that gets equated with defunding NPR and constitutional amendments to ban gay marriage.

Hell, that number could be one for all I care (and likely is one). Still one more job's bill passed by the Republican do nothing Congress. But hey, the Democrats are really good and doing nothing and blaming everyone else for no progress.

And to that I ask so what? If you are claiming democrats lacked power with 59 seats and a filibuster proof house. What power did republicans yeild with less seats from 02-06?

I'd take the difference in filibuster between who owned what as a sign Republicans were willing to work with democrats when they lacked the ability to overcome a filibuster. Where democrats were willing to endure a filibuster instead of compromise on a bill.

Umm, I just showed that they didn't need to.

I'd take the difference to be that the democrats chose to not put politics over country.

Considering the overwhelming evidence of the past 2 years and how the republicans refuse to compromise on anything and expect the democrats to bend over backwards... and they have been right.

The democrats have caved on pretty much everything.

You proved to me that once again, evidence doesn't mean a thing when you could just rationalize and justify anything based on ideology. A shame really, but human nature I guess. Evil does prevail most of the time.

It takes two to tango. And no, democrats havent caved and bent over backwards. Huge bills were rammed through. Some without anybody including pelosi knowing what exactly where in them and how they would affect the real world until after they were passed.

The only thing you proved is you cant look outside your simplistic world view of democrat good, republican bad.

Your last line says more about you than the world if you truely believe that to be the case.
