there is no way i'd watch something like that.

i can see it, half the theater puking.

even the BMF video makes me sick after about 1 minute. FOV 120 or go home.

terrible idea...but still more watchable then shaky cam.

When DOOM movie came out, it had a laughably short first-person POV, and it got a ton of heat for making people nauseous.

also why the fuck do they need funding? It looks like it's been filmed already!

I'd probably just watch it, because it's something different, even if it ends up being completely lame. Kinda like the movie Battleship, I thought it was hilarious that they made a movie based on a board game so I had to see it. It actually was pretty good.

I think a large part of it is a feeler test. They did "film" the thing...but they still need to edit it into an actual movie. The original short got a lot of interest, but it was a free youtube job. Probably good to see how many people really are willing to put their money where their mouth (or keyboard) is. $250k really isn't much in the movie world...but it would help them out and let them know people are actually interested. Then they have a better idea if they made a crappy scifi channel movie, a direct to disk budget rental, or something actually good enough for a theatrical release.

I don't see this ever getting a theatrical release unless it's limited. They're needing money just to try and turn this into a commercial release of any sort (that they'd be able to get on say Netflix, Amazon, or iTunes). Maybe if this is successful they might get some investment to make a theatrical level release, but I'm skeptical that this movie would get there.

I think this is awesome but then I don't get nauseous from it either. Is this good for every film? Obviously not, but it definitely would make for some stunning visuals when done right. Then maybe at least surround sound would make sense. I'd love for some really nicely shot stuff from a POV setup (proper camera and audio rig). There's a lot of things (just nature stuff even) that would be awesome.

I'd wish for someone like James Cameron to develop a rig for stuff like this but he doesn't seem to have much interest (based on what he said about the Oculus). Nolan seems to be so adverse to digital and a POV rig would absolutely need to be digital.

I really hope the next rover to Mars gets a sweet VR camera rig setup.

Wait, this is old and it was initially just something someone made as a music video or something (which it was pretty damn cool for that), but as a movie? not sure...

No, you're thinking about the Bad Motherfucker video (that these people also made). This is an entirely new thing they did where they shot a lot more scenes (enough to make a full length movie from).

Since there are a few videos on that page I think I'll put a direct youtube link to the "teaser" in the OP.
