"Real D" on a Home Projector?

I realized this evening that the effect doesn't work at all when they bring up the lights in the theater, but if you had a projector sending out the same double image that occurs at the theaters and the glasses, would it work in a home environment?

I actually got to tour the projectionist's booth at a IMAX theater recently. They actually use two seperate projectors for the right eye and left eye images when they're projecting 3D stuff. So at the moment, I think the answer is no, but I did read recently that Panasonic is working on something that would bring 3D capability to the next version update for BluRay, sometime in 2010.

I thought the breakthrough with RealD was that it only required one projector and used a special polarizer. Otherwise, I agree, not feasible :)
