While he isn't defending Hitler, he certainly is justifying him by claiming the just punishment Germany received after WWI was the cause for Hitler's attrocities... which is hogwash. It was the allies refusal to carry act upon Germany's violations that led us down that dark road.

For the last time, Hitler came to power because people were dying from the punishment inflicted on them and horribly suffering people want revenge. Notice the state of Germany BEFORE the Depression was terrible. It just got worse after. It was no more necessary to do that than to execute the Southerners after the Civil War. Lincoln was against your logic. Generals in those days wanted to make the South suffer horribly. Lincoln knew this would just make the situation worse. People resent their children being starved to death. You would too. This gave rise to conditions that supported the Nazi agenda. Hitler came to power after the Depression, but the suffering started before hand. That made Hitler possible. If you fill a people with hate, you can expect hate in return. What do you advocate, shooting the children instead of starving them? Like it or not, Hitler did not come about in a vacuum. Germany could have been rehabilitated, like the South. Instead, revenge was the motive for how the Germans were treated. You are choosing to argue that a pound of cure is better than an ounce of prevention. So be it.

Good GAWD you have no clue, do you? Had the treaty been enforced, it never would have happened either. Germany had a great deal to pay for for the first WW. While I agree that the finish of WWI was a cluster fusk, at least we learned our lesson in WWII and accepted nothing less than total surrender. THAT, my bleeding heart friend, is the legacy of the Treaty of Versailles.

Germany AGREED to the terms of the treaty. You make your bed, you lie in it. Our fault lay in not enforcing it. JUST as we did with resolution 1441. Which brings us back to the point. The actions against Afghanistan and Iraq were anything but aggression on our part. They were simply paying for their aggression.

But, of course, you find a way to blame everything on the US. Even Hitler's aggression and mass murder. Sorry, but no one with half a brain is going to fall for that history revisionist fairy tale.

Well nobody with half a brain will, you're right there, because what Winston is telling you requires holistic thinking. Holistic thinking requires a whole brain, the two hemispheres in communication. As I said, you have no idea what you feel and so you can't feel the connection your thoughts have to fear. You are thinking with the left hemisphere which is responding to fear. You see a chain of events, instead of patterns. For you events appear as isolated phenomenon that can be extrapolated our of contest. You think yourself very cleaver because you manipulate so many fewer facts the kind on which simplistic thinking thrives. For you everything is black and white. Aggression, defeat, treaty, violation punishment. Wow, so nice and neat.
