Readyboost w/ 4 GB RAM

Just curious - probably going with 4 GB RAM on a new machine. Would there be any point at all in getting a flash device for Readyboost? I'm guessing not really...

depends on what you are running. RAM is faster then a flash drive but if you actualy can use the full 4gigs then the drive might help, also I think there are still some programs that cache stuff to the hard drive (or readyboost in vista) instead of leaving it in ram so in that case readyboost may also help.

I'm using 4GB of main ram on Vista x64 and my 4GB ReadyBoost device gets used now and then,so it will get used regardless of how much ram you have.

You may not notice any performance gains, but if you install one it'll get used.

Interesting. I dunno; in your experience, is it actually worth it?

I had a 4GB flash drive before I got Vista so made sense for me to use it.They are cheap as well so worth a try, even if you decide not to use it for ReadyBoost, you can use it for there normal use.
