i have a laptop with a built in memory card built in and would prefer to use a memory card for ready boost because it hides away. anything that's fast enough to push 40+ MB/s?

also, when are we going to see usb flash drives each the limit of usb 2.0 (480 mb/s??)

Yes, you can. I am using a cheapo 66X 1GB Ridata SD card in my laptop, I devoted the whole thing to ReadyBoost.

It's not so much the raw throughput that's important. It's the random seek times and throughput that matters.

Readyboost works like a champ but it is very picky about what memory you use. Choose wisely.

Here is a user compiled list of flash memory compatible with ReadyBoost. Granted you have to double-check since sometimes it could be the controller/reader but it's a good place to start.

Does your laptop's card reader show up as an empty drive if no card is inserted? If so, ReadyBoost won't support it. Read more here.
