This is my first computer I'm assembling from scratch and I've got no clue what part models mean these days so I'm kind of a noob because I've been out of the computer scene for a while. I need some last minute suggestions/advice before confirming my checkout as I pretty much just placed what I saw other [hard]posters using on the forums. I plan to push a high-mid OC (3.0-3.2) with a 24" LCD monitor so below's a few parts I'm concerned may be below par for the rest of my rig or make a bottleneck and maybe I should replace them now before I order this stuff today. Any suggestions are greatly welcomed.

1. Overall how does it look? I'll be using a 24" lcd and I want to this thing to last sometime and play games at max or close settings. Any suggestions?

2. How many fans will I need (including the PSU fan)? I currently ordered 4.

3. The motherboard was only $119 they had another same version for 149, should I spend the extra 30$ or is the current good enough?

4. That Wintec RAM was the cheapest. For 20 bucks more they had G.skill should I get that instead?

5. For a complete system configuration is there anything I'm missing (wires/pastes/fans ect.) The above order is my exact.

You could save a lot of money getting 4x1GB instead of the 2x2GB. But if you really think you'll need more than 4GB, keep it. :D

Better deal on hard drive, check hot deal. Seagate 320GB for $70 at Outpost.com.

PSU is very expensive. Check froogle, maybe ZipZoomFly, Clubit, someone has a better deal.

Are you overclcoking? If not, you don't need the extra cpu cooler. Nor the extra case fans either.

I think ZipZoomFly has the OS for about $10 cheaper and free ship.

May want to consider the eVGA or XFX 8800 GTS cards, they offer better warranties I think.

Shopping around could very well save you enough money to get a GTX, which will help with that 24in LCD. ;)

Good choice on the PSU, but you can get it for much cheaper here:
http://www.buy.com/prod/corsai...loc/101/203270716.html

I would recommend getting a hard drive other than the seagate 7200.10 if you care about noise. If so, the samsung spinpoints As bamacre said you can also find a better deal on that.

If you really want to get the 900 case, Fry's often has really great deals on it for around $80 or less AR.

If you want to get extra fans (you only need 1 for the heatsink) do NOT get those. Instead get a few yate loon d12-sl12's. As it is, tricools are acceptable in terms of noise/cfm ratio. You don't need the extra airflow from additional fans.

I would also strongly suggest against getting that keyboard. If you're on a budget for that, something like the microsoft comfort curve 2000 would be much better for the same price.

In general, you should try to shop around for better prices using the hot deals section, froogle or just checking places like amazon.com zipzoomfly, or Frys.com.

I replaced all the parts with the ones suggested by the kind above posters:

Droped the Seagate for Spinpoint. 5 bucks more for an extra 80 gigs, and quieter.. :)
Droped those newegg fans for the Loons @svc
Droped the Wintec memory for Gskill for 20 bucks more

any other suggestions?
