Signed up in 2018, it's around ten bucks a month for Kindle unlimited. I think I got my moneys worth.

Public library. Cost = nothing. I KNOW I get my money's worth. Currently husband and I have 16 books checked out. Some paper, some digital.

I use my local library account all the time for audiobooks and access to other online resources like newspaper, streaming music, magazines, etc.

The library where I used to live was less than impressive, in an area where one didn't go after dark. Now that you've put the thought in my head, I'm going to visit the library in my new (very old) town. It's a pretty cool old building.

I currently have a couple free months trial of KU that I am stress testing. I like it but I don't think it is worth the money (now $12 month). There are tons of free kindle books from Amazon. There are also a lot of public domain classics for free. Most decent library systems also have a digital download section. I'm a former public library junkie and still contribute to my local library every year although I read very few physical books anymore.

Yeah, I have 8 items on loan now. I wrote an app for my PC's that tell me once a day when what is due. If an item is due today, it tells me multiple times a day. I routinely check out books, movies and music CD's.

I have a Kindle Paperwhite but don't use it a lot. I prefer paper and ink.

I live next to our local library and take my kids every month, but they don't have the amount of scifi I want and I also prefer reading in the dark on my kindle so the light doesn't bother my wife.

Kindle store pisses me off because it doesn't have a lot of books in Japanese and I'd have to make up a fake address in Japan and then buy Amazon Japan giftcards online to be able to buy books in Japanese. Which sucks because the Kindle Paperwhite would be perfect for building my Japanese reading skill otherwise since I'd be able to easily look up words in the built in dictionaries as I read. I ordered one from Amazon last year but then cancelled it when I found out I couldn't buy any of the books I wanted off the US kindle store.
