Reading MicroSD Android card

Any idea how to read a MicroSD card that was used in an old Android phone? My old myTouch 3G phone that died ~2.5 years ago had a MicroSD card in it, which I removed. The card sat around for more than a year and I plugged it into a USB card reader. Windows 7 recognizes it as a removable storage device, but I cannot read the contents.

I was just curious what might be on it before I simply have W7 reformat it. Also strange is that it is 4GB but W7 thinks it is 16GB.
