I have decided that it would be more important to change this thread to one with a link to this. All else is meaningless if people cannot understand basic writing in their native language.

I really like that show but I forgot to watch it last night because I was satching the thing on YellowStone and SuperVolcanoes while I was taking the quarter round molding out of my kitchen. Oh well.

haha i was watching, too, the only part i liked was the black lady getting pissed at the dumbass biker people, it seemed like the only realistic part of the whole episode

Stop watching TV. It's not realistic, that's why it's TV. If it was realistic, you'd be sitting there watching people who come home from work and stare at thier own TVs most of the night, while eating leftovers, or whatever it is your doing, because thier lives aren't actually interesting enough to warrant TV shows.

Medical drama on primetime is just a fad, it'll pass.

Having only ever heard it talked about, I thought it was "Grace Anatomy".

well said notfred. I really don't want to watch real life. I'll except a glossing over here and there.

I have to agree somewhat with Skoorb on the morality thing...some shows that are supposed to be light and fun veer off into "morality land" way to often and ruin the show for me. If it is a serious show...that is one thing. If it is meant for laughs ang giggles...don't try to give me a lecture on ethics at the same time.

I started to agree with you about the realistic part... then the latter is completely off. TV is entertainment. It has nothing to do with whether someone's life is interesting or not.

Some TV is less realistic than other, which was the point of my post.

I know why it's being watched: highly attractive, social, clever, witty brainiacs. Totally unlike real medical interns/residents 🙂

Anyway, the show is factually off base in a big way. That blond chick last night (last night was the first time I saw it) was whining like a little baby over some guy who was possibly going to die. Anybody working in that atmosphere _very quickly_ starts objectifying the situation, and doesn't get all caught up over stupid whiny crap like she was. I felt like the show put it in just to educate me, like I need some tv writer to help me explore morality and ethics (House, which is a much better show, unfortunately did the same thing a few weeks ago during some childish argument about obesity).

Of course the show also blundered severely when they went in to tell a guy that "We may have found you a new liver!". Nevermind the fact that the wife of the person with the donor liver had NOT yet given approval for it. Talk about jumping the gun. Even worse was the fact that this donor-recipient combo was thought up in several minutes, approved basically on a whim of a physician...and the recipient was a smoker, which would typically put him low down on a recipient list.

The show just basically sucks and we went to sleep.

Wasn't that the point, the fact that she's an intern, so she needs to learn to get over people dying? Quickly?

Also, the chief was the best friend of the guy who needed the liver donor. Doesn't that favoritism come into play when donor lists are involved, or are you saying doctors go by the book. Even if the was a smoker, the chief can "make things happen", right? Or is that something he would get fired for?

If she's been an intern for a few days she'd quickly buck up, because people would tire of her whining. Also, they never covered this kind of thing in school?

There is a difference between favoratism and making things up and throwing the book away. Organ transplants are well documented and they have to follow a rigorous process of selecting a candidate. Regardless, they still went to this guy telling him of a new liver when in fact they did not have one. That's incredibly unprofessional, at the very least.

Scrubs is the best medical show on tv. While speaking to a few buddies nearing the end of their residency I said, "Is it like ER or those shows?" He started laughing and said, "Dude, if you want to know what it's like, watch Scrubs."

I have seen a couple episodes of Grey's. Seemed like a decent show to me. Not great, but watchable.

I'm glad. Scrubs is probably the most enjoyable of those types of shows, milking the humor and not the faux-drama.

Thank you for sharing...but people that stare into the TV are not looking for reality...
Stop trolling.
