reading as 2 cpu's?

in my bios...it says i have two cpus and in windows...i go to control panel...then go to system hardware...and it will show that i have a p4 intel 3006mhz twice ,....what is going on?

You have an HT-enabled (HyperThreading) processor. Windows can treat it as if you have two logical CPUs which in acutality there's only one. Think of it as a poor man's dually. You'll need software that's capable of taking advantage of this to see any big benefits, though it probably helps a bit in multitasking.

You can enable/disable HyperThreading in your BIOS. I don't see how you can have two processors showing up in your BIOS, but I have no experience with your board.

actually...it probably didnt read as two in bios...i was typng it in the morning when i woke up....forgive me for the noob post:)
