Hi
i have read the 2 links and have the main details but as this is the 1st time i will be updating the drivers on such a fancy piece of kit i would appreciate some confirmation/correction. i assume there are other newbies around too who might benefit from your input here.
the original install of the drivers etc for my sapphire 9500pro card was painless as sapphire install cd was a "insert and run" do-it-all doosie.
I appreciate that i need to unistall the cat3.1 driver and the control panel.
do i also need to unistall the mmc?
after unistalling i reboot?
then run drivercleaner
do i really need to run regcleaner also? [not used it so dont know how novice-friendly it is and wary of messign in the registry]
i then delete the ati folder
even so all this is fine and doable
i then install the cat 3.4 [reboot]
then install the control panl [reboot]
do i really need to do all this in safe mode and mess about with deleting system32 files?
the last time i did a driver-install it was for a tnt2 and that just involved uninstalling/rebooting and reinstalling new driver - this is many orders of magnitude more involved than that!
oh for getting a new "insert and run" do-it-all cd!
i thank you in anticipation
