I don't know if this is a big deal to anyone else but with Halo you can't add bots to the game, like you can with perfect dark (n64) or with UT. Don't get me wrong the game is AWESOME but the fact that when your alone you can't play Capture the flag or Hold the briefcase or what ever just sucks. If your alone you have to just play the mission part.

At least with the hard drive and ethernet, they could update the game to allow you to do that.

That's what I don't want to see. Patches for console games are something I've loved not having to mess with in the past. That's the beauty of console gaming. You buy the disc, you put it in, and you play. No wondering why it doesn't work with your config, why this week's Detonator drivers aren't compatible, or why your Via chipset + SB Live is messing up the sound. Just pure "gonna work" no hassle gaming . . .

Good point. I don't think they will do this though because it will be a good selling point for the next FPS.

You're right, patches don't need to exist for console games because of the unified hardware. They can, however add functionality to an existing game. It would aslo allow game producers to fix problems with their games that aren't fixed before release.

Gunbuster, there's most likely NOT gonna be a PC version of Halo. MS is trying to push the X-Box, and they own Halo, so they probably won't port it. And as far as patches go, most anything you'll be able to download will be game mods and level add ons, the point there being so you don't have to buy a whole new game for just a few changes (ie. SSX Tricky). MS has stated that they will not allow company's to ship incomplete or errored X-Box games.

The mission part is pretty long anyways, and it's much better than stupid deathmatch against bots.

I'd hate to see the HD used for game updates, if you don't have enough new stuff to make another game, then leave it alone.

MS has stated from the beginning that absolutely no patches or game updates will be used. They stated very early on b/c of all the comparisons to a PC. This was also the same time they stated no PC games will be ported to the XBOX. If a PC game appears on the XBOX, then it will have been rebuilt for the system rather than ported.

By game updates, they meant to the core engine. Addon levels, characters, or things of that nature are fair game, but modifing the orginal engine or updating an error isn't what you'll be seeing, unless they hide it in some other update and sneak it past MS.
