This will get rather involved if I use prose, so I'll just do the cliff's version:

1) baby's due date is 2.5 weeks away
2) wife commute is 45 minutes (each way)
3) wife is 2 hours late getting home and still no word
4) I could not contact her on her cell or work line
5) weather is bad... snowing and 20 F
6) I call hospitals, police dept.s, and state troopers.... NO information available
7) I decide that there are only two possibly explanations:
- she is in a ditch somewhere or
- one of her students went psycho on her (her job involves dealing with college students with disabilities some of which are things like schizophrenia, bipolar, etc...)
8) I drive towards her work, not knowing what else to do
9) In 20 miles on the interstate I see no less than 8 cars that have lost control and ended up in the ditch
10) I get halfway there... finally she call's me.

.
.
.
.
.
11) One of her students committed suicide towards the end of the work day. She got wrapped up in dealing with it and lost track of the time. So she and the baby are fine, but the student is dead.

What a terrible situation. I can only imagine the thoughts going through your head.

I'm glad everything turned out ok for you and your family.

Sad for the student. Be supportive. I hope that incident didn't put too much stress on her. Happy to hear they're ok.

Glad she is ok. My wife went out one night and is very good about calling me. Well, one night I woke up and it was almost 3am and she was not home, called her cell and could not reach her. Kept calling her cell phone, no answer. Starting to freak out and 45 minutes later I get up and start putting my clothes on to go out and look for her. She calls right when I started to put my shoes on.....

Yeah i was pretty nuts for a while. I was okay til I started driving and saw all the cars off the road...

Took me a while to calm down. She was very remorseful, and I understand her circumstances, but we both agreed that this shouldn't happen again.

We don't know the gender but the name will be one of the following:
Harrison
or
Abby

possibly Jordan

Glad she's okay.

Just pick Jordan - it works for either sex.

You earned a home brew!

I would be out of my mind in that situation. The more wife shows a pregnancy, the more worrisome and protective of her I get...
