Holy cow I forgot how good it was. I think the West Wing was for guys what Gilmore Girls was for girls.

The episode where Toby Ziegler ends up arranging for a homeless vet to be buried was one of the best all time TV episodes.

I've said this several times, but it is still true. The second season finale, Two Cathedrals, is among the best episodes of any scripted TV show in the history of television.
It's unfortunate that some people dismiss it because they don't agree withthe politics.
He's not that bad, it's worth it to finish out the series. Alan Alda makes up for him as his opponent. Hee, though it would have been kind of cool to see Ed O'Neil as a presidential candidate.Originally posted by: BoomerD
Great show. I watched it up till the last season. I'm not a Jimmy Smits fan, so when they adopted him as the new candidate, I bailed on the show.
I agree, that episode rocked. Nothing like Martin Sheen cursing God in Latin.Originally posted by: mugs

It picks up to a degree in season 6. That's not as good as some of the ones before it, as it focuses on the election trail and takes away from the white house. 7, though, has some stronger episodes.Originally posted by: BlueWeasel
I started watching the series last year and loved it. Unfortunately, I got burnt out on it halfway through S5 but need to finish it out.
S5 seemed to be very mediocre compared to the earlier ones. Sam has gone and the episodes come across as just "filler".
Does it pick up?

That is definitely among the best ever.

Never got around to watching it after Season 4. I heard that Aaron Sorkin was leaving the show, and figured the show would turn into ER in the White House after his departure. Maybe someday I'll watch the post-Sorkin episodes.![]()

Agreed x1000.
It's too bad that Sorkin's next show (Studio 60) was canceled. That show kinda grew on me.
