I was at Wal-Mart yesterday (against my wishes) and saw a family walking out. The stupid fucking kid had one of those LED toys and was shining it directly into his pupil. The toy was about 5 millimeters away from his eye, his eye was wide open, and the red light was concentrated on his eye. What a fucking moron. I watched him for a good 10 seconds and he never moved the thing away from his eye.

Cliffs:
1) Stupid kid.
2) Light into eye for 10 seconds+.

I love replies like these.

The kids parents were probably walking with him. That doesn't mean they can stare at him 24x7x365 to know every second of every waking day what he's doing.

My kids have this toy. I've looked into it. Its a very very dull light.

The light is not bright and it does not even want to make you blink. That said, my oldest child played with this for all of 2 minutes, realized it sucks, and threw it away.

Uh, no. This was a Wal-Mart in a bad part of town. The kids parents knew he was doing it, I'm sure. The family was poor and Hispanic. The kid was probably 6 or 7 years old. Maybe 8. I am sure his parents don't pay attention to him, ever.

It is a bright LED. You obviously don't know that police officers carry high-output LED flashlights to temporary blind people. Now take a smaller LED and put it 5 millimeters from your eye.

I have one of those dohickeys (happy mean for my sone netted a stormtrouper) and I looked at it before I handed it to my 3.8 year old. This is nothing like the police torches :)

Alright, let your kid go blind from light exposure. :)

Have you even been to an opthalmologist? The basturd shone an intense light into my pupil to examine the retina, and that was AFTER dilation!

OARN, I had a toy gun during pre-school age. Sucker made a LOUD sound. Of course, I would hold it right next to my ear for maximal effect.

Huh, what did you say? Say again?

They provided a financial statement to you, or are all hispanics at a Wal-Mart poor?

I can tell. They were wearing thift store clothing. I have worked with the unfortunate in many volunteer programs. Please do not try to say that I am elitist for adding the 'poor' in there. They were a poor Hispanic family.

my suggestion is actually go buy a happy meal, get one of those toys and try it out. It should put your worries to rest. Trust me, McD lawyers will have done their liability study way before you get to touch that toy.

I'm going to go out on a limb and venture that all people at a Wal-Mart are poor, regardless of race/nationality. It's not really known for catering to the super-wealthy.

Edit: That was to mean.

I have had a few LED lights swriling around my eyes while my pupils were reallly dilated before.
;)
Awesome light show. My eyes are fine.
