Re-sizing the explorer window

While surfing when I right click and choose "open link in new window" the resulting window opens very small. Then I have to grab it and make it bigger. I don't know what I did to cause this. It's bit irritating resizing the window all the time. I don't know how to make the window big again.
 
When you resize the window, hold down the Ctrl key and then close it. From then on, any new windows should open at that size.

I guess you have an issue with the guy posting a software related thread in the general hardware forum? Why? Becuase it is a waste of your time? Don't waste your time by thread crapping. Let the moderators take care of teaching people lessons.

yeah, Explorer is a bizatch when it comes to maintaining the window size.

What DEFINITELY works is this:

Leave only one explorer window open. Resize it the way you want, recenter it if you like. Then close it. Next time, it will be the size you just specified. Also, someone said something about the Ctrl key.. I'm pretty sure it's the Shift key...
 
Went through the same problem with IE6 on WinXP a bit ago. I ended up posting here, and right after that it remembered its resize. I figured that I was resizing a bit too much on the hairy edge of the screen and going off the screen.
 
Control key worked 🙂
Sorry about posting in Hardware forum...............I guess it's not end of the world.

Thanks, but I admitedly stole that from someone else because I thought it was too funny myself. The person was from this forum, if I remember right but some time back in Fall/Winter of '00
