Re-route all internet traffic through Proxy

Hey guys, I was hoping one of you could have a solution to a dilemma that I'm having.

I'm the captain of the robotics team at my school and I've been trying to get some software functioning properly with the internet on some of our PCs. The school has a regular http proxy setup with mac filtering to prevent intrusion. This forces all users to sign in to the server in order to access content on the web. The problem with this is that it handicaps internet-dependent applications like some of our network-activated software on the pcs.

Is there any way to simply route all network traffic through the proxy instead of having to customize adjust settings on every application?

you want to vpn out 🙂 or tunnel but that violates the point of having the proxy.

please ask your IT folks for an exception or work-around.

Remember your buddy playing pr0n on that machine could compromise their network - which is why the proxy was put in there to begin with.

I think what you want is to not only proxy web traffic, but any other web traffic.
Check out microsoft ISA server product or microsoft forefront. You can use these as proxy but also as gateway with control over what traffic you want to allow out/in.
