thanks for the replys everyone. but trash i followed your directions and still could not run the demo and get a fps number.at the main menu i hit the ~ key typed in timedemo1 hit enter but kept coming back with invalid command over and over again until i finally gave up jeeesh...... so what do you think i should try now? maybe im doing something wrong i dont know..... reply back everyone with some suggestions

it is timedemo 1
there is a space inbetween temedemo and 1

then you type demo demo001 or demo demo002
then when the demo is through press the tilda (~) again to get your results
 
thanks theslowone i must not have entered it right the first time. i ran at 51.9 fps. with my radeon 32 ddr overclocked to 180-180 i ran at 61.1 fps. what fps range is considered good as far as gaming goes?
