Hi AT!

I have a pressing issue. Recently I bought a 50" plasma TV with a native 1360 x 768 (something like that) resolution. When I play games they are limited to 848 x 480 and below. I managed to get the desktop to display at native resolution by clicking a checkbox in the advanced video properties tab that allowed me to override the "safe" settings (which was 640 x 400 or something). I was not able to install the actual graphics managing software when I was installing drivers, but everything runs smoothly. The video card in question is amd/ati 4670 pci-e. The connection I am using is HDMI.

Thank you in advance for resolving this issue!

Cheers.

I assume you mean you couldn't install Catalyst Control Center?

Maybe try installing ATi Tray Tools? I'm not sure if you'll be able to there or not.

I am not really sure that Tray Tools will do something for me, I think it is more of an actual windows issue. I'm running XP SP3.

Install the Catalyst Control Center, most recent drivers for your card, you should be able to get the TV's resolution. I ran a 4350 on my plasma at 1920x1080.

What brand plasma is it? If it's Samsung there's usually an HDMI port that's meant for a PC connection (usually labeled HDMI/DVI). It's usually HDMI port 2 on most models. There should be no reason to have to resize resolution once you do, even without CCC. It'll default to 1360x768.

In CCC try to go to My Digital Flat Panels -> HDTV Support, then check mark Add 720p60 format (NTSC).

Try Powerstrip if the CCC doesn't work. Its the only way for ATi users to force a custom resolution instead of request it.
