Anyone else not give the slightest sh!t?
I don't care if some 6'3 185lbs "woman" can swim some number of yards in some number of seconds.
I mean... why!?
I can't see any reason this has any bearing on our lives.

heh, nope.
I really get nothing out of watching them. Cant see any reason I should.
I love to play though. Lacrosse is my favorite "regular" sport. But I kayak and paintball more than anything else.

The Olympics are the best sporting event period. These aren't a bunch of pampered whiny millionaires, they are largely young kids who have spent most of their lives dreaming of a chance to compete with the best from around the world. The Olympics were awesome when I first watched them when I was 10(1976) and they are still awesome now.

Of course, no one is obligated to watch them.

Olympics is about humans setting aside their differences to compete against one another in a sport. Look at the Koreans at the Olympics. (I'm not Korean btw) North and South Korea have been at war with each other for like almost 50 years but they walked together under the same flag during this Olympics. Its for the spirit of competition.

I never really went out of my way to watch the olympics either, bbut since I am living in Sydney right now, I have to admit that the whole "olympic fever" does get to you, and I don't regret it.
