OK, So I got her computer and boot it up ,hard disk makes awfull noise,
so I try to boot with win 95 foppy and do fdisk/mbr and get No hard disk present! So
I guess it's Shot.
I'll put another hd in and get it up and running again
My Question is ,Is there anything I can do to recover the data from the bad Hard drive????

There are companies which will try to recover data from a bad drive. The cost may not be
acceptable. They are usally for mission critical systems.

Get a copy of PCMag/PC World and look in the back for data recovery specialists.

Hey Thanks,
It was a long shot question. Thanks for the reply.
Should I try anything else to try to get it to work or should I just file it in the trash. thanks again

Best Shot is taking it to a shop and paying a good amount to get all your files back. If nothing is really that important on the drive, try experimenting with quides and FAQ's.
