One of the cars lease is up in October and we will release no matter what. Anyways we currently have a 2005 Nissan Altima 2005. The lease is through Nissan Motor Corp. They have sent me pamphlets explaining the process. But they also offer a couple of things.
Pre-Approved Credit to a certain amount to lease with them again
No Security deposit
$500 on any wear and tear that the current Nissan might have.

The dealer just sent me a letter with their own deal.
If i get a new car now they will pay off the remainder lease.
No security deposit/no down
Free GPS unit (not factory installed unit) probably some cheap thing.

What do you think. I know some of you just hate leasing, but its what we do.

I's say get the new car.

One of the advantages of leasing is that you get to have a shiny new car every 3-4 years

Well, i get a new car with either deal.
One is through Nissan directly and the other is dealer offer, probably through another lender.

how much and what rate is the pre-approved credit?

what would the rate be on the dealer one?

and why do leases use money factor rather than just telling you the rate?

Both paper works don't have the rate listed? They both say based on credit rating. I have a 700 or higher credit score. I checked my report about a month ago and the score was from 690 to 712.

Never mind, seems like both Nissan and the dealer are offering the same deal. Just got a letter directly from Nissan Corp yesterday with the same deal that the dealer sent directly.

I got a letter from Nissan, but it was to trade in her vehicle (01 Altima). Thet said that they would give her top dollar for the trade if she bought another Altima. Oh well, too bad i do not like Nissan that much.

Do you have some compelling reason to lease, other than "it's what we do"?

What is your question?

I just turned my lease in a couple weeks ago and leased a new vehicle... although not with Nissan.

Why do people hate leasng so much? All you are doing is paying the depreciation on the car. if you know for a fact that you will get a new car in three years, you would be better of leasing.

Because you have some people who buy a used car and drive it for 15 years until it literally falls apart. These are people who feel a car is something that gets them from point A to point B. They also put finances at a very high priority.

Leasing is definitely a good option if you know you're going to buy a new car every few years and your usage is average.

For me, driving my truck into the ground is what I plan on doing, so buying it and driving it for 15 years is the best option.

There is a good chance I will lease my wife's next car only because I like the idea of having her in a new car every few years with the latest safety features. Of course she has a 2004 Civic that's all payed off right now...so I'm not tempted at the moment (no car payments are a blessing). Still, I regularly think to myself how I'd like to have her in a much safer car.

We lease a car to have a new car about every three years. This car always goes to my mom. She has no worries that the car will break down and I have no worries that it will break down. All she has to do is every 3000 miles oil change. I look at the car from time to time and do tired rotations and little things needed.
I own my car, its a crappy 2002 Nissan Sentra with over 100,000 miles. I must say that i hate maintenance ( i still do it always on time). Once the car passes 3 years stuff start to break down. At least in my experience.
