If I ever re-install un-install itunes, do I lose the songs I just bought or are they stored on my computer?

If I reformat do I lose my songs?

If so, how do I back them up.

If I back a 100 songs on a cd well, thats retarded. It would take forever to upload each one to itunes..I dont know if that i even possible.

Any help?

No, you don't lose the songs. You don't even lose the iTunes library (assuming you didn't delete it).

even if u reformat?

Is there a way to preserve the songs for sake keeping? Just in case they might be destroyed.

Are they stored at an itunes server or once you buy them there stored on your computer.

The default location for the iTunes library (not necessarily your MP3's) is under \My Documents\My Music. So yeah, if you reformat that particular partition, then you'd lose it if it weren't backed up.

With iTunes you physically buy the mp3s right? Well, if so you can just burn all of them to a data CD or DVD, then copy them back to the computer.

Well... you know how you can transfer a file to a folder? Well it's the same when you transfer data from a data CD to your computer. Then I think you just simply import them to iTunes (should be able to drag and drop or something).

To burn it... get a burning program... select data CD... take CD-R... voila.

You won't lose your songs... you shouldn't at least. A friend of mine had to re-install iTunes and he did something and got all his songs back... I can't remember exactly.
