Re-installed xp on laptop and lost internal wireless adapter

After re-installing xp on my laptop, my internal wireless adapter stopped working?!?! If I install a wireless adapter card things work well. I would just use the adapter card, but the internal always seem faster.

Any ideas?

My thoughts too, but window update had new drivers and I installed them as well...still down. It's get to the point where I think it's bad.

I can see my laptop on the network, but the laptop doesn't see the network

Thanks for your input,
John

ok, well check your device manager and make sure the wireless card shows up there with no exclamation points or anything.

Then, you may have to configure your wireless setup. You probably have a rounter that is configured to a specific SSID and perhaps WEP. You need to tell the card to look for these specifically. I've had trouble with the XP auto configure thing, so I always disable the XP auto configure and use the configuration program from the wireless card manufacturer.
