Re-Install winxp pro on dell pc

I just got a dell pc that has winxp home on it. I want to install a copy of winxp pro that I brought on it. The problem is my friend told me that it is not do-able because Dell does something "strange and proprietary" to their hardwares that if I install my copy of winxp pro, the system will be rendered useless. I want to know if this is true or not because I don't want to screw up my computer. Thanks

nope.

make sure you download all the drivers from dells website first. also, on most dell computers "c:\drivers" will have all the drivers on it (winxp home and xp pro will use the same drivers).

other than that, nothing special.
