Hi guys

Can I reinstall Win98 without wiping the existing version. I suspect that over time some of my Op System files may have become corrupted like for example difficulties in shutting down Windows.

If it can be done to advantage, what is the procedure to follow?

Yes, you can simply reinstall it over itself and it shouldnt affect anything else on your system. Ive done it a few times with Win98 and Win2K Pro.

Just dont forget to goto the Windows Update site and get all the patches when you are done. 🙂

It works about 50/50. Sometimes, my OS is so screwed up with phantom drivers and errors in the registry that a formating becomes the only viable option.
