Re-install or Upgrade XP on Dell laptop?

Hi, I got a Dell notebook that came with XP Home pre-install. I have my XP Pro copy. Is it better to format the HD and do a clean install of XP Pro? If so, do I have to reload all those Dell drivers and apps? Or is it better to just upgrade it by running setup inside Windows? Thanks.

If you have the Dell Driver disk, then it makes sense to install the XP Pro and re-install the drivers. Format the disk and have a go at it.

If you are happy with the rest of the setup and programs on your Dell, I'd do an in-place upgrade to XP Professional. I've NEVER seen a problem doing so. As always, be sure to have a backup of important data before doing any significant system modifications. You'll need that no matter which upgrade method you choose.

never upgrade. reinstall is always better. kinda like a spring cleaning. it jusr makes you have to decide what you really need.
