re-format or just re-install??? winxp experts..

hi.. my hd is on my athlon comp.. im planning to use the same drive on a diff p4 comp...
the drive is partioned into 2.. 10 gig (sys) 30 (data) ...
do i have to reformat the 10 gig partition? then reinstall os??
or just insert my winxp installer to reinstall the os? the drive with the data wont get affected rightre-format or just re-install??? winxp experts..
 
Your moving from an Athlon system to a Pentium system.

I would do a format of just the 10 GB partition during the install (you should be able to do this from the XP install.)

I say format. Nothing like a clean install to speed up performance and increase reliability. Heck you probably have adware you didn't even know of on your computer anyways.

re-installing might create some incompatibilities. formatting cleans off all your junk and any problems you were suffering.
