Re-enabling DMA for Asus CDROM?

My Asus 34x CDROM was happily running in DMA in Win 2K Pro(SP2) until I decided to use PIO 4 mode to try and alleviate a problem with a CD. To my surprise, when I try to revert it back to DMA, it accepts it but when I reboot, it still says PIO4, WTF?

You need to go into your BIOS and change it back to the MODE it was originally. I would just set them to AUTO and let the BIOS detect which MODE works best. If that don't work manually change the PIO mode.

I never changed the BIOS setting, only in Windows 2K. It was always set to Auto mode in the BIOS.
