It confirmed by the Devs. I made this post on GS forum.
"Re-Core, Sea of Thieves, Gears Ultimate edition, Sunset Overdrive, Halo Wars 2 are all coming to PC to join Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, and Ryse. Rumor is that Forza Horizon 2, Scalebound, Quantum Break, etc... might also come to PC.
I ask you fellow X1 owner, what is the point of Xbox One? Why is Microsoft doing this?"
Tell me what you think about that?
For starters, your unsubstantiated rumors about exclusives don't hold any weight to me. There haven't been legitimate announcements that
FH2,
Scalebound, or
Quantum Break will be on the PC at all, let alone when the games launch on consoles. On top of that, as was said,
ReCore's listing was a mistake, and the same was stated for
Sunset Overdrive.
Why get an Xbox One? For starters,
Halo and
Forza. Right there's just about good enough of a reason, having the 5 games in
Halo: TMCC (including the
ODST campaign) and
Guardians, plus the 3
Forza titles on the One. You're sitting on 9 games you can't get on PC.
Gears Ultimate is coming to PC, but not Xbox 360 backwards compatibility. For $40, the PC will give you one remastered game. On the One, you'll also get (for free)
Gears 2,
3 and
Judgment via backwards compatibility, meaning 3 more games.
Then you have
Ryse and
Dead Rising, which didn't reach PC until almost a year after they were out on Xbox One. That ties in to
Sunset Overdrive. Even if it makes it to PC, I bought, played, beat, and sold it, like, 9 months ago. Screw playing Xbox One games on PC if I'm going to have to wait an extra 9+ months and pay more to play the games, plus lose the ability to trade them in.
Microsoft is doing this to keep Windows 10 relevant for gaming. Valve's complained about Windows in the past (Gabe railed on W8, and used it as an excuse to start SteamOS, in a way). Microsoft puts some high-end titles on Windows to keep folks from flocking to Linux/SteamOS/OSX en masse, but they also keep the core stuff on Xbox One (
Halo,
Forza), while also making many of the PC ports hang up for a bit, meaning there's a benefit of getting them on console instead (not waiting months to play the games).
