RDRAM

Why is RDRAM disliked so much ?

Here`s an example from theinquirer.net:
famous for being probably the most hated memory in the world.

From my experience its not all that bad,is it?

It's not a bad technology, it's was just too expensive. Intel heavily promoted RDRAM as being the best when the rest of the industry kept producting regular SDRAM and the DDR SDRAM which then equalled and surpassed the performance. Even Intel has abandoned RDRAM for the present. Personally, The Inquirer uses words like "hated", "worst", "despised" far too often for me to give them any credibility.

actually it's because of their unethical business practices....
they tried to make every memory brand pay them royalties because RAMBUS technology claimed that they own all of the DDR and SDRAM technologies...
obviously they don't, so they failed...

heh the saying goes, RAMBUS has more lawyers working for them than electrical engineers

lol, yes he's right.

^^^ they learned from unisys (GIF patent for LZW) and passed it on to SCO.

They participated in the group to create license-free technology for RAM standards, perjured themselves by offering technology to the group as open that they had secretly patented, then tried to collect royalties on the patents.
