RDRAM memory question

Bite

Dell tells me I have to have a matched set of memory modules when adding memory. Unfortunately, I purchased one 512 MB module from Dell memory a few months ago, not realizing I had to have a matched set of two modules to upgrade. My question is: do I have to have an 'exact' match with another 512 MB module to make my 8200 work properly?

Thanks for any advice....

Yes.
You have to fill the bank with the same memory (another 512 with same speed rating).
The motherboard is setup in 2 banks of 2.

Hi, It has to be the same size stick of RDRAM, but it doesnt have to be the same brand. I have 2 sticks of 128 Mushkin Non-ECC 800mhz RDRAM that I put in when I first built this one, then a yr later I added 2 more sticks of 128 Kingston Non-Ecc 800mhz RDRAM and it works just fine. Kingston is much more affordable if price is a concern and it has performed w\out a flaw. Ck www.pricewatch.com and you can find a pretty good deal on a 512 stick Im sure.
