RDRAM - matched pairs or just pairs?

I know someone who has a RDRAM-based motherboard with a 256 MB RIMM.

Can he add a 512 MB RIMM or must he used matched pairs?

Thanks,

Jake

It depends on the mobo. The 16bit rdram must be paired and the new 32bit is singles. All must have the free dimm slot crimmed.

Thanks for the response.

I know that 16-bit must be paired. My question is must the two RIMMS be MATCHED. I.E. can you use one 512 and one 256 or must you use 2x256? If the latter, do you have to use the same manufacturer?

Andy got here before I returned form dinner. 😉 as he stated they need to be matched, but mfg. doesn't matter.
