I read about rdram latency issues all the time, and recently I opened up my box to check my ram. I have pc800 45ns chips. 128mb/8 devices.

So where do the latency issues come into play? Can you feel its effects in everyday proggies we use?

Also, I read about how Rdram latency decreases as the ram speed increases......... I have run these pc800 sticks at pc1066 speeds, so does that mean my latency has gone down because of overclocking?

The latency will only show up in benchmarks.

You won't notice the effects of latency in anything that you would normally do (unless running Microsoft Office benchmark scripts all day is what you normally do).

Latency does decrease as RDRAM frequency increases.

You will have decreased your latency by running your PC800 at PC1066.

I have heard some people claim that they can feel the lower latency of RDRAM, but in all of my experiences I can't tell a difference in real world performance. All that synthetic benchmarking is good for bragging rights, not real world performance.
