RDRAM Cheaper that DDR

That price is wrong on sharky unless they always track ECC memory. It's 72 dollars a stick instead of their 83 dollars listed( I think they put in ECC DDR by accident). Althoug 72 dollars is still more than 71 dollars a stick for RDRAM.

Edit: Also that 71 dollar Stick of RDRAM is now 79 at that site. It's just an older list and needs to be updated.

when the heck did ram prices fluctuate so much? i still remember when i got my 256mb DDR Crucial for 30 after a bunch of promotions.

<< when the heck did ram prices fluctuate so much? >>

It happened in the past 2 months or so. I got mine when it was about $45 thanfully.

<< never thought I'd see the day when RDRAM is cheaper than DDR. >>

Exactly what went through my mind today while doing some shopping.

My gosh..

I shoulda bought like 2gigs of crucial ddr when it was cheap.

Any chance of prices going down in the near/far future?

<< Any chance of prices going down in the near/far future? >>

Sure, they will go back down again. PC2700 will probably help push the prices of PC2100/2400 down a bit. I think the prices will stay put for a little while. They will go down eventually though.

<< that is until rdram goes to pc1066 then it will be way expensive. >>

Actually, I read something today (well kinda') on a German site (translated BADLY) but from what I got out of it, they are saying the PC1066 should not be that much higher as production costs are not much different. Unless, of course, demand skyrockets and then look out!😉 I hope to get about 1G as soon as I can find it just in case the demand does make it shoot up!😉 (with my luck the oppisite will happen and it will fall like a rock..........🙁)

What I'm wondering about more than anything is Motherboard support! Abit says the TH7II's will support it but I've not seen anything on others. Seems to me timing may be a problem, but I'm not that entirely up on the inner workings of RD!😉
