I have 6800XT set to max 2500 MHz and voltage locked to 1075 mV.
In an effort to minimalize input lag for a game (Apex), I've stumbled upon deep sleep states in MPT.
Disabling those, I've got some interesting results: power draw is actually lowered by 30-40W when locked to 175 FPS.
My explanation is that although very fast, waking the GPU core forces it to max state until work accumulated drops and by disabling sleep states, the card is not forced to go full throttle when waking from sleep.
Before disabling states, the card was consuming 230 - 240W with peak of 260+W.
Now it runs at 200W and I've seen it hit almost 230W once.
Maybe someone can confirm this?
