Saw this over @ FW credit goes to barney52. ;)

This is a ymmv deal for sure. I had to go to 3 Targets before I found some. Price tag is $478 rings up @ $243.

I also signed up for a Target/Visa credit card & got an additional 10% off. My price out the door was $235 tax included.

Features:

7" 16:9 diagonal LCD display
DVD, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD-R playback capability
MP3/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/VCD playback capability
Optical digital audio output
Dolby digital/DTS compatible

Here is the unit in quesiton @ amazon

Nice price for a 7" LCD portable DVD player! :D

Good Luck~!

jtallon glad you were able to score on this deal. :)

People over @ FW are saying they have gotten them for $121! :Q

After hearing that I went searching again. All gone in my area (St. Louis) or are ringing up higher than $243 :(

Well I bought one tonight and when I insert a DVD in there it says loading and never plays the DVD. I know I can call RCA and get a replacement but I'm not sure if I want to do it. I may take it back or I may get a replacement.

Anyone wanna buy a brand new non-working mint one for the price I paid so you can send it back to the manufacturer?

RCA will replace the brand new non-working one with a reconditioned replacement.

Is the DVD disc absolutely clean? This player does not like even the littlest bit of dirt. Also when you insert the disc you have to be certain that the 3 holding pins grab the disc evenly (the slightest tilt to the disc will cause your problem). Try removing the DVD & rotating it 1/4 to 1/3 of a turn and reinserting it. Spin the disc with your finger to make sure it's placed evenly in the player.

Hope this helps.

Also, the RCA doesn't play some DVD-R discs, esp. those made in a Panasonic stand-alone recorder like the E30.
