What does this program actually DO? I've just read that it's a good program to testing stability. Anyways, I want to make sure I did this right. I downloaded it from some distributed.net thing..and opened it up, put my email address in, ran it again..and now it says
1 cruncher has been started
OGR rate: 8,544,772 nodes/sec

what does this mean? am I doing this right? It doesn't seem to have any effect on my cpu temp, it's been running for 30 minutes my cpu is at 42C, is that a big deal?

You are doing it right. You should ask this over in the distributed computing forum. You are running OGR. Make sure this is waht you wanted to crack. Myself I am doing RC5.

RC5 and OGR are, for all intents and purposes, equally CPU intensive. As for cracking RC5, you'd be a great help to Team Anandtech RC5! Go check the distributed forums and ask how to edit the CFG file (I'd do it here but I'm about to go out, sorry :( ) You should get a bunch of quick, helpful responses.
