I usually leave my proxy on all weekend, so to fudge the wu numbers a little, I flush 1000wu just as the proxy hits 30min. This enables me to download 50000 wu in the que, but here is the catch:

The Proxy will state it has 50,000 wu ready to issue. I flush 900 wu's to the proxy and it changes the 50,000 to 46,xxx. Where did the other 3,000 go?

This does not help with where the blocks go but it might help with having to fake out the pproxy.

In the rc5 section of the proxy.ini file add a line
[rc564]
expertmode=1
The expert mode will let you set your number of blocks and not deal with the 30min game. You can then set the limit to what you need to get through the weekend without trouble.

If PP's are the same as the clients, then what's happening is when you fetch blocks, your fetching 900 packets, which can contain anywhere from 2 to 32WU's each. And the number that the proxy is giving you is the number of available WU's. So the client is fetching ~4K blocks or ~900packets. Everything is in order.
