RC5 People....

...I just noticed that we passed 40% of the total keyspace. We are getting closer to one day no longer having RC5-64. 🙁

Statistically, it's not very likely that we'll have to go much higher than sixty to seventy percent of the keyspace to find the right key; on the other hand, it's possible the key might not be found until it's at 98 percent so something silly like that. :Q

Or even worse, they'll get to 104%, realize they had a bug in the client all along, and not get the key until 130% or so! :Q

Although you'd think they would have worked out the RC5 bugs by now.

Thanks Jator!

Ken_g6, I was thinking the same thing! Then they find that it was in the first 5% of the blocks, but passed over due to the bug you mentioned. Most people wouldn't care since it have all been for the stats!! If you had wanted a scientific project you would have been doing SETI! 🙂😀

Actually, picture this, the key that is correct is sent back to Dnet but incorrectly cracked, and hence a re-run occurs. How many of you would do the re-run, considering that the key may have been in the last 80% say?

wow, it wasn't all that long ago that we passed by the 33% mark. i bet the whole space could be checked within a year.

Woot!😀 It's only been 1.5 years, and we've allready gone for 10% to 40%.🙂 The key, here we come.😛
