RC5 or SETI

Right, well I've played around with both of these and got some, albeit a few, units done in both. I just want you to decide which should be better for me to be crunching away on. Either RC5 or SETI.
For those interested it will be an AMD Thunderbird 1.333GHz and XP 1800+ crunching these. 🙂

SETI ofcourse! 😀

Seriously though it is up to you - YOU are the one "donating" so you get to choose. Both have many very helpful and knowledgable veterans who will help with any quirks that may arise.

FYI those CPUs will be great at either project 😀

Did I mention....<cough..cough..SETI...cough...cough> that I do both projects?😛 Not a whole lot of RC5 power from me but I have a few machine crunching SETI.

Any of the TeAms would be happy to have you crack/crunch for them.

Welcome aboard! 😀😀😀

WU!!WU!!WU!!

[UPDATE] I now has dual celleron 500s @635 folding for F@H. 😀 [/UPDATE]

Hmmm... #= years for RC5 and going, no end in site for Seti..

How about ECCP?!😀

Easy to set up, little or no effect on system performance and easy to sneakernet. With that Athlon you will be cranking out the DP's!!

Food for thought.🙂

Sorry, but I feel it is a personal decision. ANY of the Team Anandtech projects (not just RC5 & SETI) would be glad to have you participate. 🙂

But if you need some help, here's how we decided things in the old days. Make a fist, then alternatingly point to RC5 or SETI as you recite:

Eenie Meenie Minie Mo, To Which Project Should I Go? Help Me To Decide My Fate. Choose The One To Participate. My Friends Asked Me To Choose This One!

😀

When I do it, it selects SETI. But then that's the one I happen to be participating in currently. I've done RC5 and OGR in the past.

Good Luck to ya!

Welcome! to Team Anandtech no matter which project (or projects) you decide to do! 😀

I decided to go along with Seti now after Ai3x and Confused (sort of) told us a little while ago of team anandtech. Just figuring now whether berkeley is being slow or I done something wrong with SetiQ.

Btw I would choose SETI ,but its your choice😉 ,another option would be Genome@Home ,TA still has a very small team their atm

Welcome to The TeAm Spleenus 😀
Have you tried connecting to Confuseds SETIQ?

Welcometo the Team!!

Nice choice with SETI. If you are having trouble, dont worry. I just added my mum's Laptop to crunch for my account, took me about 20 attempts to get connected to the SETI servers, just keep trying 🙂

Server problem should begin to get better sometime soon though.

Hi, i actually got my own little setiq up and I was amazed that I did it so easily and quickly. So far my 2 main machines have an average as follows (based on 23 WUs in 2.5 days)

1.3Ghz - 5h07m
XP 1800 - 3h43m

thx for the welcome

357 WUs in total so far

I've chosen to do SETI primarily, but I did take a vacation a while back to do RC5 for a few months too. 😉

Choose what interests you - TA is involved in many different projects. 🙂

dnet client basically has the lowest impact on systerm performance and the least problem among all distributed clients.

Also, RC5-64 is 78% finished as this moment, pretty remarkable, huh?
