I recently installed Linux (Slackware 7.1) on my Duron 700@1055 (111*9.5). When doing ./dnetc -bench from the console in Linux and dnetc -bench from the command prompt in Windows 2000 I get the following results:
RC5 OGR
Windows 2000: 3,669,353.47 8,285,862.32
Linux: 3,703,177.69 6,555,733.97
In RC5, Linux is slightly faster, as I expected, but OGR is much slower. I previously notices this with my old K6-2 350@460 (115*4). Is there a deficiency in the client? I was hoping to improve my speeds with linux, but apparantly that's not possible ..
Any comments / help would be appreciated.
