RC5 and linux(mandrake 8.1) HELP

I got the lastest rc5 linux client installed and configured execpt for one thing Im not sure how to do. How do I get the client to connect to a remote buffer thats on a windows box?

Shouldn't make any difference where the pproxy is or what it's running on. The client.ini is configured the same - as SHUX noted.

If you run ./dnetc -config, you can bring up the menu in order to go through the configuration for where to fetch/flush.

You just need to install samba on the linux machine in order to access your shared buffer on the Windows machine.

I must be a little brain dead because what Shuxclams said went right over my head...

the ip for the remote buffer is 192.168.0.1 and the share name is rc5-Master

Wouldnt I just put config dnet for 192.168.0.1/rc5-Master ?

Ahhh... shared stuff!

I've never tried doing shared buffers with dnet, no matter what OS. If somewhere in the config you need to specify a drive, then as Polo said, you need Samba, then you need to mount that windoze share (and just keep it mounted).

Why not setup a pproxy on the windoze box and use that for both machines?

I would say a pProxy would be an easier alternative than a shared buffer between 2 OSes. With that said, who cares what the easiest route is, go for the most chalenging.

ok I setup a proxy but I have one stupid question.


The setting minkeysready=10 is the 10 in blocks or does it mean 10 keys?

Is there a way I can keep the proxy from getting ogr stubs? I put contestclosed=1 but everytime it connects to the net, it gets changed
