I'm running the 477 version and Mcafee keeps saying dnetc.exe is infected with the win32.Pata or Pate.....some crap like that..... When I tell it to clean it I find out it cant because access to the file was denied? (This is with dnetc not wunning)

Iv tried redown loading the zip file 3 times now with the same results. Norton 2003 says its win32.Pife (or something like that).

Should I be worried about this? I had to tell Mcafee to ingnore the file because I was getting tired of getting a popup about it.

I just downloaded and scanned the latest client, and it shows up as clean on NAV2003. Is your scanner up to date software and definition wise? Have you tried another scanner?

Yes its up todate and both Macfee and Norton 2003 give a warning. At first I thought it was a NAV2003 problem which is why I went to Macfee instead.

I downloaded the same version (2.9001.477) of the zipped version for win/x86, and scanned with NAV2003 (latest definitions). Perhaps you should try a full system scan; a virus which is already existent in your system could be infecting the downloaded file before it could be scanned. 😕

I have already done a full scan and my system is fine. Iv scanned the zip file and its fine. I can even right click on the file a scan it and its fine. Both both NAV2003 and Macfee's real time monitoring programs will popup a alert saying its infected. When I tell either program to clean the file it says access was denied and then simple pops up another window asking the same stupid question.

I also have a 2nd computer which is running rc5 and when I opened the shared folder that dnet is in for that computer, both program brought alert screen up and yes that system is clean as well.


I just dont get it.....

OK......if you go by Macfee, the file has win32.Pate.A If you use NAV2003, I have win32.Pinfi


OH wait! I just checked my 2nd computers reg to see if a reg key was there (even tho I did delete it) and sure enough it was there. This stupid thing also infects files shared on a network with the dnet.exe on my computer is. Tho I cant understand why just dnetc.ece would be infected and nothing else on my computer.
