I was wondering if any of the RC people on the board could recommend a durable and easy enough RC helicopter for a preschooler? Tall order, I know...
So the nephew, who will be 5 this February, received one of those Brookstone U-Control mini RC helicopters. pretty awesome little toy--it was at the top of his list, so hard to avoid and although he's managed to get it up and down a bit, he's already snapped the top pin in half. can't fix it with the replacement parts that came with it.
Not a shock in the least bit, though we were hoping for a few more days of use, lol. The controls are simple enough; throttle and tilt, but he's simply not subtle enough with his coordination. ...again, no shock here. It's raining like hell right now, so no chance to take this guy outside and get some extended practice (we'd hope that he can eventually use one indoors).
In other news, the sweet-ass RC Tron bike that his uncle gave him kicks ass. It climbs up walls and it will even run along the ceiling.
