I'm looking for an RC truck for my dog to go nuts chasing. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a full blown gas/nitro one since this is just a toy for him so it's battery power for me.

The question is, will I be able to find something battery powered that's faster than the 20 mph they all seem to be? My dog's pretty damn fast and while I've never clocked him, I get the feeling that anything with a top speed of 20 mph would get owned pretty quickly. If there's nothing out there that's faster, is there any way to mod a battery powered one or make any appreciable weight reduction (while still maintaining strength) to get the speed up? Thanks in advance guys.

the question is will he chase it without affixing a piece of meat on the rc truck?

Absolutely. This dog will chase anything you put in front of him. Frisbee, football, the lawnmower, etc.. He'll go completely apesh!t over this.

Traxxas Rustler. On the cheaper side of things, also long at 17" for a 1/10 scale, but pretty durable. Lots of fun to build, too.

Buy a decent RTR (ready to run) electric model (yes, some of these top out arround 60mph) and. I would hate to see you put all the time into building one of these things just to feed it to the dog
