i bought a diamondback yesterday, and i can't get the on-the-fly sensitivity to work.

actually, for that matter, i don't notice a decrease or an increase in sensitivity.

they say if you press the 4th button and scroll the wheel up or down, sensitivity is adjusted. you can tell by some sort of indicator that pops up on screen.

i'm not getting that indicator. i'm running the lastest version of their software 5.09.

i'm running on an xp x64, so i don't know if that has anything to do with it.

any and all help will be appreciated.

i downloaded the xp64 drivers, and still the same problem.

EDIT:

solved the problem.

they talk about the need to uninstall all software before hand. they're right. unfortunately a simple uninstall wont work, you need to go in and find all residual drivers and purge them manually.

i uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers many times, but i never had any luck, so just to see what would happen, i decided to remove everything manually. when i did it and reinstalled the razer drivers and rebooted, the "on-the-fly" sensitivity function started to work.

get a g5 they work so much better and you dont have to click 1 button the scroll another button, its just a simple click of the up/down dpi key.

The Diamondback's method for changing the sensitivity is much quicker, though - I don't know about you, but I can scroll a lot faster than I can click. That's especially valuable when you have no fewer than 20 possible settings. As far as I know, the G5 doesn't give you anywhere near that many options, which must make it a little difficult to fine-tune things. Razer all the way!

Good to hear that you managed to fix that, xyyz. I had the same problem with my Diamondback not so long ago, but a simple uninstall/reinstall of the program solved it for me, I think.

well this problem has again returned. it happened in the oddest way too. i installed the latest x64 beta drivers for me x-mystique and i lost the on-the-fly sensitivity all over again. it really sucks, considering the sensitivity control really kicked ass.

i tried my method of getting rid of all traces of the driver and reinstalling, but no luck.

any other suggestions?

My Diamondback Plasme LE has never had this problem. I just installed the software after using a generic optical mouse and on-the-fly worked like a wet dream. I however use XP Pro....XP64 really isnt a good os yet, nor do i think it will ever be. WAY too many bugs to ever be considered by me.
