Razer Tiamat 7.1

Before I start, I would like to say hi to everyone as this is my first post 😀

So Razer came out with what they claim is the world's first true 7.1 audio device, the Razer Tiamat 7.1. It has 10 drivers, 5 in each ear, which sounds incredible. Is it possible if you guys at AnandTech (one of the few sites that are completely unbiased anymore) can do a review on these babies? No other site has a review or even a video review on Youtube.

Thanks in advance.

if you already know they sound incredible, why request a review. 😛

multidriver gaming headsets ftl

Razer already put out a multi driver headset with the Barracuda HP-1s, and unsurprisingly (ie when people found out how terrible multi driver headsets really are) their next flagship headset was the Megalodon which were traditional 2.0 headphones but with mixing to provide surround sound.

With only two ears we only need two channels to provide proper 3D positioning.

Now that people have forgotten about the Barracuda HP-1s Razer marketing is at it again. And when the Tiamat 7.1s fail just as hard I imagine they'll continue on with their hypocritical ways and market a new "Megalodon 2.0" product all while putting down multi driver headsets in their own marketing

the only analog mutil channel headset I would trust would be the Psyko Audio ones that put the drivers in the headband and rely on air channel latencies to provide the surround sound speaker simulation, but apparently their products are pretty sub par for 2 channel audio
