Has anyone ever used a Razer Boomer mouse for gaming? if so, how does it work? I am still looking for a good mouse for some hard-core gaming and was wondering if Razer is a good one.

have you look into gaming pads? they aren't mouses, but they are definitely for a serious gamer, for a good mouse, the shape of the razor mouse looks like it would be good.

I have used the original Razer BoomSlang and liked it quite a bit. However, the mouse is a bit too big for my hands to use the scroll wheel quickly (changing weapons etc...). If you have fairly large hands, the Boomer can not be beat. Currently, I use the Razer Viper, it is a bit smaller, optical, but not as accurate as the Boomer. I love it though and Razer kicks ass. These guys are serious about gaming mice.

The BoomSlang was a great mouse, but if you're looking for a Razer mouse I'd get the Viper because it's optical (cleaning the ball is annoying).

I had the Boomslang. It is hands-down the best ball mouse out there. It took me some getting used to, but I played better once I was more comfortable.

That said, the newer optical mice from Logitech are even better. Razer shot themselves in the foot, IMO, when they released the Viper with only 2 buttons + wheel. I need at least one thumb button!

Optical > ball mice

I can't think of any problem with Optical mice

I have used one for gaming for years on a thin piece of teflon laminated to my desk top
